Just Write It, Kiddos!

We are ALL writers! Especially kiddos!

I say this because kiddos still have a firm grasp of their God-given imagination. They aren’t inhibited by what is in or out fashion, and though I am but a wee wren, I cannot say I love most modern writing. I guess I am considered a bit of a dinosaur in that regard.

In any case, back to young writers. Encourage the young writers in your life! The world can be a harsh and judgmental place. I say we inspire the kiddos to practice being creative, whether it’s painting, drawing, scupting, learning music, and, of course, writing!

We can’t all be DaVincis. God did not intend for us to be. But we CAN be what He created us to be, which is just as special. We were created to be creative and use that creativity to understand our Creator better. Say that ten times really fast! :-D What I am saying is that our recognition of beauty and order helps us understand God’s ways a little better. We appreciate Him more and desire to be close to Him. And this is just the beginning of a beautiful relationship with Beauty!

So, I say start training kiddos when they’re young! It’s never too soon. Babies still living inside their mothers hear and enjoy beautiful music, laughter, and gentle encouraging conversation. Read stories to them. Sing to them. Pray for them aloud.

Encourage your young ones to look for beauty, appreciate it and follow it to its fellows: order, joy, goodness, faithfulness, truth, and love. Our beautiful creative Messiah is right around the corner, waiting.
