Nora Lamar the wren, here! It’s candle weather again (of course, it’s always candle weather for me, hehe)! Nevertheless, cooler temperatures and shorter days mean more time for lighting candles and drinking steaming hot cups of tea (or coffee, or cocoa).
My best human friend, Eleanor, and I designed tartan candles from the family tartans of myself and some of my friends. We decided to create a couple of tartans simply because they’re beautiful, and it’s fun to do!

Back to candles! This candle features a tartan we designed, thinking of warm flannel and crisp, chilly Autumnal nights! Think of crackling fireplaces and stamping the snow from your boots, a warm bowl of stew and fresh-baked bread waiting on a table, glowing with candlelight and welcoming faces.
You may be thinking, “Nora Lamar, you have a vivid imagination for a wee wren!” Well, I’d say you’re right! My imagination sparkles with all kinds of lovely things sometimes! It can be difficult to describe some of the beautiful thoughts that are given to me! We will discuss that more later. For now, it time to prepare for the cozy season, which also hosts some of my favorite holidays! Advent is just around the corner, and those lovely feeling of hope and expectation that come with it. I think it is a wonderful thing to always relive that hope and joy every year. The memory of that special night, when our Lord was born, is reignited in our hearts, filling us with awe and warmth and love.
So, light a wee candle and be reminded of the Light of the World that came “to seek and to save that which was los” (Luke 19:10).
