I love a good cuppa on a fairly daily basis; however, summer can call for something a little cooler. Iced coffees, teas, fruit waters, and more will go down delightfully from this wee glass tumbler! Well, it’s not so wee at 16 ounces. And it features one of my favorite quotes by G.K. Chesterton. If you don’t already know why I love this quote, then keep reading and God bless!
I love this quote by G.K. Chesterton because it highlights the loving imagination behind our very existence! We are a part of a grand story! Sometimes the Story is scary and sad; however, like the heroes of old knew, there is a goodness that will prevail. We are to defend that goodness and spread it everywhere we go, like the scattering of water droplets in sunlight or leaves in the wind!
Okay, you may be thinking, “but what has this to do with glass tumblers, Nora Lamar?” Well, that brings me back to the Chesterton quote on this glass. Let it be a reminder that without you, the grand Story would fall apart. Whether our role is great or very humble, it is still vital. This reminds me of one of many wise observations made by Lord Elrond in Professor Tolkien’s telling of the stories of Middle Earth:
Yet such is oft the course of deeds that move the wheels of the world: small hands do them because they must, while the eyes of the great are elsewhere.
In conclusion, St. Peter also says to humble oursleves under God’s mighty hand. So, you see that humility is valuable to the great Author Himself. Embrace this truth as the ink flows from the Author’s pen!
