Beornulf the Badger Ephesians 6:17 Mug in Castle Grey
Hello, friend!
If you’ve been perusing my website, you most likely already know that Beornulf the Badger is an Anglo-Saxon warrior! But did you know he was only recently introduced to coffee? Now, he loves a good cup of Joe any chance he gets!
Beornulf is another friend of my family’s whom we met through Tilian. (His name means warrior or battle-wolf in Old English). His favorite Bible verse is from Ephesians 6:17! He is a skilled swordsman, so he understands the power of the language St. Paul uses to describe the holy words that bring forth our very existence and make us whole.
Before they ever knew anything about coffee or tea, Beornulf and Tilian were used to a little *small ale with their meals, including breakfast. So, imagine their delight when they tasted the warm and toasty flavors of these warming beverages!
Beornulf, in spite of his rough exterior and grumpy nature, prefers his coffee with sugar and whipped cream, sprinkled with cocoa, and garnished with a cinnamon stick. Serve it with a nice pastry, and you'll see a very happy badger! The world is full of such miracles. Do you know any badgers? Well, never stop believing, my friend. ;-)
So, have a warming cuppa in one of these lovely wee mugs and think of Beornulf the warrior badger drinking his sugary coffee with whipped cream and sprinkles! It’s sure to make even the most hardened ol’ badger smile! (At least a little grin). ;-)
*Small ale, also called small beer, is a very low alcohol beverage that was regularly consumed in ancient times, even for breakfast. Sometimes, it was safer to drink ale or wine than water in those days. A little trivia: The great playwrite Shakespeare refers to “small beer” metaphorically to describe something insignificant or trifling.
Cheers!
