As you may know if you’ve been on my website before, I am a wee wren! My best human friend, Eleanor, and I read, paint, and drink tea together quite a lot! She expressed a desire to design a “tea-sized” insulated mug, so the official Nora Lamar travel mug was born! Eleanor wanted my family tartan in the background and her best bird friend on the front! That’s right, moi! :-D I feel honored that wren bring such joy to humans!
Eleanor painted this wee picture of me wearing my favorite red scarf. Red is my favorite color because it reminds me of the blood that was shed by the Messiah, who is called Jesus and Yeshua.
More about this travel mug: We wanted a smallish insulated mug, so we picked this design which has a 10 ounce capacity. Eleanor says its perfect for her because she often makes a cup of tea while working, and then finds that she became distracted by her work and the tea had gone cold. This little mug keeps her tea warm for much longer than her pretty teacups (best for when you’re not working). I asked her how long her tea stayed warm, and she said that after almost two hours, the tea still felt quite warm, not hot. She said that was exactly what she needed.
For more extensive time periods or for when you are out in cold weather, you may want one of those high tech travel mugs that stay hot for 8 hours! That’s amazing to a wee wren like myself. However, if you want a wee insulated mug with a lid that will keep your tea warm while studying or working, but is still whimsical and pretty and encouraging, this may be the mug for you!
More about my tartan: My father’s family is Scottish, so the tartan you see featured on this mug is from the MacDreathan clan, an ancient wren family that has been in Scotland since before it was officially called Scotland! I hope you enjoy its rich colors of deep blue, enchanted forest green, sunny gold, and, of course, deep crimson red.
